In Mandalay we were up at 4 am to go to U Bein bridge in order to see what we had been assured was a lot of activity on the bridge. I had illusions of rows of monks but the reality was the local populace, which includes monks, out for morning constitutionals, chats, prayer and transportation of goods from one side of the bridge to the other.

After James's accident which I won't go into here we had booked a trip on a boat down to Bagan and we decided to continue on. At one stop there was a stop while passengers boarded and this woman who had been doing her washing stopped to watch the weird, light people in stupid clothes staring back at her.
I'll do some more on this journey but this blog will finish with a couple of images from Bagan to whet your appetite.
